How we sprouted into becoming Publishers
In 1995, Dion Puzon Sr (Educator) along with son, Dion Jr (Technologist) created a very simple, interactive intranet web portal/resource guide that addressed the ESL (English As A Second Language) student community.
This intranet web portal originated from a board game that Dion Puzon Sr created, 15 years back, while working on his Masters Degree at the University of Wisconsin.
The two of them brainstormed of ways on how this board game could be shared with students on a wider scale. At this time, Dion Jr was working on an emerging internet technology that was designed to make it easier for farmers to manage their farms, share their stories, and sell their products online.
They combined their experience and expertise and Puzon Technologies was born, and years later, renamed to UniMinds Media.
In 2005, their first nationally circulated, mixed media (print with online companion) publication, USAG was launched with the help of Willy Nelson, Peter Bell, and Farm Aid. And with only 2 issues in, was renamed to Organic Producer Magazine.
In 2007, due to reader response questionnaires, UniMinds halted most of their print editions, and transitioned fully to online and digital formats.
Today, UniMinds continues to publish private and public digital online publications within the trade and lifestyle sectors.
